Al compas del mundo – programa #44 - Blues – urban and rural (USA)

Blues – urban and rural (USA) Broadcast Sept 8, 2022

When in doubt, you can always go back to the blues. A music programmer’s lush paradise of choices. In retrospect it’s a historic shame, shame, shame that the artists largely weren’t able to see it through the same lens. Recently attended a poetry night here in Tequisquiapan and the principal talent asked if anyone else wanted to get up and recite. I secretly plotted my chance for next time: a translation of some plaintive blues lyrics into Español, followed by a little wailing harmonica till I got the crowd clapping along, but…nah, too much like Koerner, Ray and Glover. - J.H.
