Easier to see why the American populace (30 percent or so) can't figure out who the president is.
They couldn't figure out what was good music in the 1960s when these numbers didn't rise above #70 in Billboard.
Course ... A lot of vagaries.... But Big Boss Man, for one example, sure stood the test of time.
Why do they stall? Could have been a B-side, brand new artist, on small label, not much air play, peaking in different cities at same time, says DJ Alex. Now everything happens at once on the Internet.
