The man who blew his top - Trump is no good

Image
Trump has the world in his hands. The madman jumps and the populace has to pay notice. Last night the second and last debate. Me, screaming like a wife battering husband, and wishing him on his way to hell. How vile his smile when he lies all the while. He’s the Queens bar setter.Waiting for judgement day - Praying in America to toss out bullying baby and his shitful bath water. He tried a ploy – to pose a minor resemblance to a human being for 5 minutes. And America, astounded! He's "going to release his taxes." You dont have to study behavioral psychology to see how much he lights up when he digs into a big lie. Click on 'Composition' link below to hear my latest song! It's got a good beat and you can dance to it. Composition: Trump is no good - Jack Vaughan - [MP3]    Alt verses Trump has no respect for a Democrat like me Trump has no respect for a Democrat like me He tells the arena Im a joke He says that I'm out  to steal the vote Trump has no respe...

From the Vault 1939 World's Fair

Image
Bubsy Berkeley’s musicals - linoleum, acrylic and fleshy - were an exotic Depression-era tonic that, historians have subsequently suggested may have softened the hard existential torrent that pelted a weary 1930s public. There were other expressions of The Dream of Beauty and Peace. In 1939, the New York World’s Fair enlisted great commercial concerns like G.M., General Electric, Westinghouse and Consolidated Edison, together with the PR arms of nations such as Japan, USSR and Italy, to create great pavilions of something or other. This was suitably leavened with some burlesque [sometimes highbrow – Salvador Dali took part] and amusement rides, and it all came to be well after the fact something of a statement of what a wonderful world it could be and would be in some suitable place known as the future. https://moontravellerherald.blogspot.com/2007/02/1939-lost-world-of-fair.html

Racine - Vibe

Image
I was one or two years old, and know this from retelling – My father went from Boston to Racine for his new job at Johnsons HQ. He stayed at the Racine Hotel, and was taking care of details like finding an apartment for us in town. I should premise the whole thing with the note that it is true, Boston’s are stuffy. You can live across the street from someone and it might be five years before they decide you are going to be around a while and say ‘hi’. No, bringing over ham loafs when you move in, or offering to watch the kids in you are in a ‘pickle.’ It was Sunday morning, sunny, in the summer. And my father was walking down from Monument Sq toward the lake. A fellow walking in up the way says to him: “Hi, nice day!” My father calls home to my mother in says. “It seems like a nice town – but it is really different here!” Flash forward to 1973 and I am back for a visit and walking up Johnson in Madison with a six pack and a guy says to me: “Good idea!” Only here, I think! I used ...

Tuba Section - Remembering Dana Poissin

Image
At left, Dana Poissin in Charlie Deming's "Mr. Big". Remembering Dana Poissin - I dont know if I'd formally met him yet. But here is how I first encountered him one on one. I'd just signed up for school and I was at the ticket counter at the student union on a Friday night just me myself and I nothing to do and nobody else really around. Except Dana. And he came up to me - to ask me to sign a petition. Which I took as pretty exciting cause here I was in Madison, the center of radicalism, wow, and I was going to sign a petition! What was the petition? I asked Dana. To restore the Tuba section in the University Marching Band. Was his answer. I signed, and laughed. Far out. Here I am! Got to play music with Dana a few times, including some of the best times.
